Stephen Heibein Joins StreamCenter, Inc. as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Online news and information pioneer heads technology group for newly formed on-demand video streaming service for associations

COLLEGE PARK, MD - March 15, 2004 - StreamCenter, Inc. announced today that Stephen G. Heibein, former vice president, technology for WashingtonPost.com and Newsweek Interactive, the online subsidiary of The Washington Post, has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Heibein brings to StreamCenter, Inc. more than 20 years of technical experience from positions held at several prominent Washington-based companies. He has led engineering teams in the creation and operation of some of the most popular news and information websites including: www.washingtonpost.com, www.newsweek.com, and The Smithsonian Institute's web site, www.si.edu.

Prior to joining StreamCenter, Inc. Mr. Heibein was Vice President, Information Technology for K12, Inc., a $75M provider of online curriculum for home school and charter school students. Mr. Heibein led the application development, network operation, and information technology teams in the creation and support of K12's online Virtual Academies.

Mr. Heibein also served as the Chief Technology Officer of Hanley-Wood, a $170M publisher of over 50 business-to-business magazines and associated web sites directed to home building professionals. Among his accomplishments was the creation of www.ebuild.com, an online business-to-business catalog of over 200,000 products, named one of the top ten Internet players in "BtoB's Media Power 50" along side Google, CNET, and CBS MarketWatch.

Previously, he served as Vice President Internet Solutions for AETEA Information Technology, a $120M IT consulting company. He managed P&L and provided technical leadership for the Internet Solutions business unit. This group developed online solutions for publishers, financial institutions, dot coms, and the telephone industry.

As Vice President, Technology for WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive, the online subsidiary of The Washington Post, Mr. Heibein managed all technical operations, infrastructure, and development for the world's third largest newspaper web site. The site delivers news, classifieds, ecommerce, yellow pages, directions, email, personalization, stock quotes, and more.

Earlier, Mr. Heibein worked at Silicon Graphics for nine years. As Manager of Emerging Technology, his team developed solutions to penetrate the evolving Internet, telemedicine, distance learning, and video servers markets. As advisor on Silicon Graphics’ new product development, he influenced the product design to support these new and growing markets.
